Nikon DIC ME600 microscope with Nikon 5 Mpix camera

Microscope similar to the old one that has been in the NanoFabLab for several years. However this has better objectives and a much better digital 5 Mpix camera.


It is a Nikon model ME600 epi-illumination microscope with DIC (Differential Interference Contrast) which gives the possibility to see height differences in reflecting specimens displayed as color differences in the image.

It also have a Dark Field option, which means that the illumination is indirect, producing images with dark background and edges and features displyed brightly.

It has objectives from the CFi Plan series, newer version with much longer working distance than the old microscope.
