Dimension Hardware Description

The Dimension application module hardware consists of the following items:

AFM Scanner

Allows the user to mount the application module using two screws (size: 2-56, 1 1/4") (see Figure 1).

Application Module Sensor

The application module sensor contains the amplifier for TUNA imaging. You may mount the application module sensor on the AFM scanner using two screws. It connects to the application module port electronics box using the subminiature D-15 connector (see Figure 2).

Application Module Probe Holder

The probe holder provides electrical connection from the tip to the application module sensor, while maintaining standard features for contact mode and tapping mode imaging.

SSRM, TUNA, PeakForce TUNA and C-AFM share a common probe holder, shown in Figure 3. SCM probes have a specific probe holder, shown in Figure 4.

Probe Module Universal Connector

All Dimension application modules are provided with a tiny wire, the Probe Module Universal Connector (Universal Connector), shown in Figure 5, which is required when a module is in use.
