The Select Experiment Window
The components of the Select Experiment window, shown in Figure 1, are described below.
Figure 1: The Select Experiment window (with ScanAsyst mode selected)
- The Select From Panel provides the user with two methods of determining the initial Realtime setup of the microscope:
- The Use Previous Experiment check box allows you to select the most recently used experiment. With this method, check Use Previous Experiment and then click Load Experiment to start that experiment.
- The Experiment Category Panel allows you to select from the available the experimental modes. With this method, select the mode then continue to subsequent panels to select the group and specific experiment.
- The Experiment Group Panel allows you to select an experiment group within your selected mode.
- The Experiment Panel allows you to select a specific experiment to load, corresponding to the mode and experiment group chosen above. The specific Experiment chosen will determine the pre-loaded scan parameters available in Realtime.
- The Experiment Description Panel provides a brief description of the selected experimental settings.
- After choosing your experimental setup, click the Load Experiment button to initiate Realtime microscope operation.
- The Change Microscope Setup link opens the Microscope Select window, discussed in Starting NanoScope Software, which allows you to select a new microscope or new microscope features.
- The Change Scanner link opens the scanner swap wizard, which enables you to change the scanner loaded on the system.
- The Ignore Probe Parameters checkbox, if checked, instructs the software to ignore the parameters of your previously used probe. By default, the system uses the stored probe parameters.
- Click Cancel to close the Select Experiment window and continue to use the existing Realtime Scan and Ramp Parameters.
