How to upload a MSDS

A current Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS, SDS) according to the CLP standard is neccessary for a product to reviewed as "green", i.e. fully reviewed.

The CLP standard means that at least the danger symbols must be the type with white background and red edge. But even those can be too old, the revision date should be not older than three years.

A MSDS in Swedish is also neccessary.

Also products that have been archived (grey in the product list) but are still in use should, if possible, have a current MSDS. In this case you cannot upload the MSDS yourself. Mail it to a KLARA admin instead.

Sigma-Aldrich have an excellent web-site for downloading MSDS, also in Swedish. For other suppliers it can be more tricky to find MSDS:s, especially in Swedish. Some suppliers do not have Swedish MSDS available directly on their web site, but a mail or phone call can give you the desired MSDS.

Here is shown a simple example to upload a Swedish MSDS when there is already an English MSDS present in KLARA.

If a product entry has a small "PDF"-icon at the far right, an updated MSDS is necessary.

Click on the small "PDF"-icon.

You get a new window where there already may be an earlier uploaded MSDS, here an English one is shown.

In this case there is a great help from the English MSDS, it shows the supplier and the product number. This makes it very easy to locate the Swedish MSDS at the supplier. In this case the Swedish MSDS was downloaded from Sigma Aldridge, since the English MSDS was from there.

To start upload of the swedish MSDS click on the "Select Supplier"-drop-down, and select the proper supplier, usually the one previously stated in the KLARA product info.

You enter the revision date as stated in the Swedish MSDS.

Then you browse for your already downloaded Swedish MSDS.

Click on Save to confirm.

You get a new window showing both MSDS uploaded.

You can click the cross button in the upper right corner to get back to the usual KLARA list of products.
