Batch Image Analysis

Because the batch image processing operations will be performed on a series of previously captured NanoScope images, there is no need to create a Real-time configuration.

1. Create an Image Set node as a direct child to the root My Recipe node.
2. Click on the "…" button to the right of the Image List field, which will bring up a box to help select files for the Image set.
3. The Directory button will allow you to browse to the folder where the stored images are located. Use the Add and Remove buttons to select files to add to the image list:

4. Click OK to continue. The list of files paths will be shown in the Image List box, separated by commas. To change the list of files, click the "…" button again.

2. Select the Professor and configure the Image Analysis parameters:

3. Ensure that you choose an appropriate Output Image Name for the modified NanoScope image files.

2. Click on the Professor and teach the image analysis properties.
3. Set Create Data Report to Yes. Note that the default name of the Data Report Output File is RoughnessDataReport. This name may be changed if desired:

Create and configure an Image Export node as a child to the Plane Fit Image Modify command node. Leave the default metatag values to automatically generate the file name:

The Batch Analysis.rcx recipe run should proceed before performing the Image Modify, Image Analysis and Image Export commands on the entire batch of images. The resulting list of files should reflect the original files, the modified files and the exported image files.

In addition to the image files, there should also be a generated data report file called RoughnessDataReport.txt:

Open the file RoughnessDataReport.txt in a spreadsheet program.

The data report lists the results of the image analysis node for all files performed, listed row by row. The left column lists the image file names and proceeding columns list all of the image analysis parameters.

The analysis input parameters are listed on top and the parameter minimum, maximum, average and standard deviation for each parameter are calculated in the bottom row:
