Getting Started

Installing the Recipes Plug-in

Before installing the recipes plug-in, the NanoScope software v7.20 or later must be already installed on the microscope control computer. Please see the NanoScope User Guide for installation instructions. Once the NanoScope software has been installed, the recipes software may be installed by running the "RecipesSetup.exe" installer.

NOTE: Ensure that the NanoScope software is closed during the Recipes software installation.

  1. Double-click the RecipesSetup.exe icon:

  1. The recipes installation program, shown in Figure 1, will open. Choose the radio button to install a new instance of the application. This is referring to a new instance of the recipes plug-in, not the NanoScope software.

Adding the System Registry Keys

Recipes is a keyed feature, and as such, requires a special registry entry to run the plug-in after it is installed. To obtain the proper registry entry keys for your particular system, you will need to provide the System ID of the NanoScope software to your Bruker sales person, who will in turn provide the appropriate registry edit file.

You can find the System ID in About NanoScope under the Help menu in the NanoScope software:

  1. With the NanoScope software closed, double click the registry edit file:

The system will provide the security warning:

  1. Click Run to proceed.
  2. Click Yes to the following question posed by the registry editor:

  1. Click OK to confirm the entry to the registry:

The recipes package has now been installed and is ready to run as part of the NanoScope software. When you launch the NanoScope software the Recipes feature should be available to use.
