EC Chuck

The Nickel plated invar Dimension Icon EC Chuck, shown in Figure 1, replaces the standard Dimension Icon chuck.

It incorporates:

A heating element protected by a tungsten alloy heater cover.
NdFeB Magnets to hold the Dimension General Purpose Electrochemistry Cell or the Dimension Electrochemistry Cell down.
Two temperature sensors:
- A sensor that is built into the chuck that is used to control the chuck temperature.
- An external sensor, shown in Figure 1, used to calibrate the temperature drop from the controlling temperature sensor to the sample.
Spring terminals to connect to the Dimension General Purpose Electrochemistry Cell or the Dimension Electrochemistry Cell and the DB-15 connector.
A DB-15 connector that connects to the EC multiplexer (MUX) box.

The bottom of the chuck is sealed against the chuck base with a user-replaceable Viton O-ring (McMaster Carr 9464K431), shown in Figure 2.

NOTE: The O-ring surrounding the tungsten heater cover is not user-replacable.
