EC Chuck
The Nickel plated invar Dimension Icon EC Chuck, shown in Figure 1, replaces the standard Dimension Icon chuck.
It incorporates:
- A heating element protected by a tungsten alloy heater cover.
- NdFeB Magnets to hold the Dimension General Purpose Electrochemistry Cell or the Dimension Electrochemistry Cell down.
- Two temperature sensors:
- A sensor that is built into the chuck that is used to control the chuck temperature.
- An external sensor, shown in Figure 1, used to calibrate the temperature drop from the controlling temperature sensor to the sample.
- Spring terminals to connect to the Dimension General Purpose Electrochemistry Cell or the Dimension Electrochemistry Cell and the DB-15 connector.
- A DB-15 connector that connects to the EC multiplexer (MUX) box.

The bottom of the chuck is sealed against the chuck base with a user-replaceable Viton O-ring (McMaster Carr 9464K431), shown in Figure 2.
NOTE: The O-ring surrounding the tungsten heater cover is not user-replacable.
